Winter Steelhead Fishing Report for 2016 in Southern Oregon...
The Chetco and Umpqua Rivers are already fishing good for Winter Steelhead due to the recent rains that we've seen in our area. This is the first time in a couple years that we've seen the amount of rain we need to start off a really great Winter Steelhead season in January.
These fish range from five to twenty pounds with eight to twelve pound fish being most common. Winter Steelhead are know for being acrobatic and peeling a lot of drag. We find success by both side-drifting small pieces of eggs and pulling plugs from our drift boat.
The New Year is a very exciting time for steelhead anglers across the PNW, so come join us on a guided fishing trip to start off your New Year.
January - April
