Guided salmon and steelhead fishing on Southern Oregon's Rogue, Umpqua and Chetco

John and Dan Return for Some More Upper Rogue Spring Chinook Action - ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!

John and Dan have gone with me three times in the past two seasons and have had success on Springers each time out. They say putting in the time pays off, and it did just that for John of Eagle Point, Oregon. A true trophy Spring Chinook bit his bait on May 23rd, 2014 (my birthday.) John got a great hook set on the monster and the battle was on; he fought him for about 15 minutes before it hit the net. We held him up for a quick photo and released the fish unharmed.
Dan also got in on the action and hooked a fish the same size a few holes down river. Unfortunately the hooks popped out of the fish's mouth after about a 10 minute fight. It was the best case scenario for the big wild fish to come off before being netted and we considered it a landed fish without the picture.
We finished our day off 2 for 2 on some trophy birthday salmon!!!
Congratulations John and Dan and we'll see you next time!
Thanks again!
