The winter steelhead continue to be on the bite in the upper Rogue River. Both side-drifting eggs and pulling plugs has been the ticket to us getting these tricky fish to the boat. The season is in full swing and fishing will stay red-hot until May. May is an exciting time of year because we begin to target the famous Rogue River Spring Chinook Salmon.
My good buddy ran a trip for me today and he said this plug-fed steelhead folded the rod over when he hit. What a beautiful specimen! Thanks for the hard work Charlie "steelhead" Brown.
