Guided salmon and steelhead fishing on Southern Oregon's Rogue, Umpqua and Chetco

Rogue River Fishing Guide Near Medford, Oregon

Lee came all the way from Hawaii and Marty from the Bay Area to fish the Rogue River with PTGS. They put a beautiful hatchery fish in the box early in the morning, once again proving that the 3:30 a.m. wake ups are well worth it. We finished with a handful of other chances backbouncing eggs as well. They did great learning how to get this tricky technique down right away. We got four or five fish to bite, which is saying a lot while "Springer" fishing. We just had trouble getting a good hook set on these light biting fish on this day. "Springer" Fishing is a lot of work for everyone involved but the payoff is very rewarding! The best advice that I can give to anyone and everyone who is back-bouncing for salmon is to set the hook. Whether you feel a garanteed bite or aren't quite sure what you feel...just set the hook. I always tell my clients that hook sets are free so use as many of them as you need to.
Thanks again guys, you did an awesome job today. Enjoy the beautiful meat!
