Guided salmon and steelhead fishing on Southern Oregon's Rogue, Umpqua and Chetco

First Summer Steelhead of the 2013 season on the Rogue River with Phil Tripp's Guide Service

While fishing for Spring Chinook Salmon one day in June we were seeing a bit of a slow bite. At the time there were nearly 100 summer steelhead to the hatchery; and because the salmon wern't exactly jumping into our ice chest, I figured it was a perfect time to target a few of those early steelhead. Boy is it nice when a quick decision on the river works out for the best and good things happen for your clients. The pictures of the chrome bright steelhead below are proof that I made a good decision on that day. Even though my guests came for Spring Chinook Salmon, they were more then happy when these beautiful hatchery steelhead hit the net.
A good example that having an open mind while there are multiple species of fish in the river can sometimes make the day.
Book your steelhead and Silver Salmon trip this Fall, it's a very productive time of the year!
November is one of the most action packed months on the upper Rogue River!
