Guided salmon and steelhead fishing on Southern Oregon's Rogue, Umpqua and Chetco

Upper Rogue River Steelhead Report - Rish & Alec on 4/10/14

Rish and his wife Mary fished with us last Fall for Summer Steelhead and Coho Salmon. He decided to book another trip on 4/10/14 to see if his grandson Alec liked steelhead fishing on the river out of a drift boat.
About 15 minutes into teaching Alec how to side drift, he hooked into a beautiful upper Rogue Winter Steelhead, and then a big resident Rainbow Trout. His arm was soar but all he wanted was to catch another one. However, this time it was Grandpa's turn. Rish hooked a beautiful steelhead for himself a few holes down the river. We finished the day with several more opportunities on steelhead and caught a lot more Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout throughout the trip.
More importantly, Alec loved steelhead fishing and can't wait to come back again. He said next time he wants to do an 8 hour trip instead of a 6.
Rish, I will see you again in June for some tasty Spring Chinook Salmon. Until then buddy, thanks for the great trip and the fabulous photos. Tight Lines!
